El cliente
En el caso de este proyecto, el cliente nos encomendó remodelar cocina, baño y terraza con el objetivo de utilizarlo a modo de inversión y alquilarlo. Nos convocó por la propuesta y uso de materiales alternativos con los que hemos trabajado en otros proyectos. Debíamos considerar que nuestro cliente no iba a ser el habitante definitivo de esta casa y que incluso, podrían ser diferentes en cortos períodos de tiempo.
Carbono Atelier
El desafío fue generar un proyecto que hallara su riqueza en la resolución de detalles que personalizaran materiales de procedencia industrial. Un proyecto a modo de inversión, pero que no dejara de ser diseñado como una experiencia sensorial.

The client
In the case of this project, the client entrusted us to remodel kitchen, bathroom and terrace with the objective of using it as an investment and renting it. He called us for the proposal and use of alternative materials with which we have worked on previous projects. We had to consider that our client was not going to be the definitive inhabitant of this house and that even, they could be different in short periods of time.
Carbono Atelier
The challenge was to generate a project that would find its wealth in the resolution of details that would personalize materials of industrial origin. A project as an investment, but that will not stop being designed as a sensory experience.
Detalles
Este proyecto es una sumatoria de detalles sensoriales y materiales. Comprendimos que el uso inmediato que se le daría a la propiedad sería el alquiler y esto implicaba que el diseño, propuesta material y programática debía satisfacer una amplia gama de necesidades e intereses para poder posicionar el departamento dentro de un mercado inmobiliario furtivo.
Dentro del Atelier proponemos conceptos para desarrollar nuestros proyectos, esto significa que una propuesta puede variar en opciones materiales, siempre y cuando conceptualmente se genere la experiencia buscada. Laprida no fue la excepción, decidimos trabajar con materiales de manufactura industrializada, que pudieramos calcular mínimos desperdicios y contar con su obtención dentro del cronograma ajustado con el que contábamos. Sin embargo, esta decisión no debía impactar negativamente en la búsqueda que como estudio llevamos adelante desde 2015: recuperar el valor de la experiencia sensorial. La voluntad de combinar distintos elementos, con el fin último de exponenciar las virtudes propias de cada material.
Decidimos utlizar estos materiales, repensando detallles de unión, de juntas, de terminación, combinaciones y todos sus vínculos con el contacto y cercanía con los cuerpos de las personas que habitarán esos espacios.
Details
This project is a summation of sensory and material details. We understood that the immediate use that would be given to the property would be rent. This implied that design, material and programmatic proposal had to satisfy a wide range of needs and interests in order to be able to position the department within a furtive real estate market.
Within the Atelier we propose project concepts in order to develop our projects; this means that a proposal can vary in material options, as long as the desired experience is conceptually generated. Laprida was not the exception, we decided to work with industrialized manufacturing materials, we could calculate minimum waste and buy them within the adjusted schedule that we had. However, it was very important that this decision wouldn´t have a negative impact on the purse that we´ve been carring out in Carbono Atelier since 2015: recover ing the value of sensory experience. Our aim to combine different elements, with the ultimate goal of exponentiating the virtues of each material.
We decided to use these materials, rethinking joinery details, coating details, combinations and all their links with contact and closeness with the bodies of people who will dwell those spaces.
Materiales
En la selección de los materiales industriales, se buscó aquellos en los que de alguna manera se pudieran reconocer rasgos naturales:
- terciado de pino: vetas muy marcadas y planos grandes de madera, con aroma y tinte natural; pero accesible en el mercado en paños standarizados y con capas entrelazadas que dan rigidez al material; evitando que la madera trabaje, se mueva y modifique el diseño original con el paso del tiempo o cambios climáticos.
- chapa negra: hierro con una capa de protección provista por la fábrica, que lejos de parecer pulida e impoluta, se asemeja a una aguada japonesa...al movimiento de las vetas de la madera, al movimiento del agua.
- estuco: con un color previsto por la fábrica, con proporciones listas para prepararlo, es un material cuya aplicación depende de la mano del colocador. Las paredes se vuelven reflejos de las manos de la persona que las hizo.
- cemento: al igual que el estuco, se prepara considerando ciertas proporciones, pero depende del armado del molde sobre el que se vierta y quién lo haga. Su terminación puede variar si le agregamos particulas de otros materiales, es como construir piezas de piedra.
Materials
In the selection of industrial materials, we looked for those in which some natural features could be recognized:
- pine threshing: very marked veins and large wooden planes, with aroma and natural dye; but accessible in the market, in standardized cloths. This format prevents the wood from moving and modifying the original design with the passage of time or climatic changes.
- black iron: iron with a layer of protection provided by factory, which far from looking polished and unpolluted, resembles a Japanese watercolour ... to movement of wood veins, to movement of water.
- stucco: with a colour provided by factory, with proportions ready to prepare it. It is a material whose application depends on the hand of the setter. The walls become reflections of the hands of the person who made them.
- cement: like stucco, it is prepared considering certain proportions, but it depends on the assembly of the mold on which it is poured and who does it. Its completion may vary if we add particles from other materials, it is like building pieces of stone.
