En  Carbono Atelier, vemos cada proyecto como una oportunidad de equilibrar la relación entre el espacio y el usuario.  En el proyecto de Yerbal, la arquitectura busca reflejar la personalidad de Beatriz. Un espacio nuevo, sencillo y de materiales nobles.

At Carbono Atelier, we see each project as an opportunity to balance the relationship between space and user. I

n the Yerbal project, architecture seeks to reflect Beatriz's personality. A new space, simple and of noble materials.

Yerbal I

En esta ocasión, se nos dio la oportunidad de revivir los anhelos del cliente, y devolverle una arquitectura coherente a la etapa de vida que hoy atraviesa.

Yerbal  es el hogar de Beatriz, el espacio que habitó gran parte de su vida. Nos buscó con la intención de renovarse frente a la mudanza de su única hija; este proyecto es el comienzo de una nueva etapa.

Un proyecto en segmentos, que comienza con la remodelación de la cocina y área de servicio,. Ambos son lugares de la casa que Beatriz sentía la necesidad imperiosa de renovar,  lugares que ya no la representaban. Nuestra intención fue que redescubriera su hogar. Generamos un nuevo espacio de  tranquilidad en el que ella pudiera disfrutar tanto de momentos de introspección, como de compartir con amigos.

Yerbal I

On this occasion, we were given the opportunity to revive the client's wishes, and to give her back a coherent architecture to the stage of life that goes through today.

Yerbal is the home of Beatriz, the space that inhabited much of her life. She sought us with the intention of renewing herself in the face of the moving out of her only daughter; her project is the beginning of a new stage.

A project in segments, which begins with the remodeling of the kitchen and service area. Both are places of the house that Beatriz felt the imperative need to renew, places that no longer represented her. Our intention was to rediscover her home. We created a new space of tranquility in which she could enjoy both moments of introspection and sharing with friends.

Redefinir el espacio

Cada gesto y cada material fue elegido en base a la personalidad y deseos de Beatriz. Conocerla fue un proceso paulatino y gratificante, que decantó en un proyecto sencillo, aunque lleno de matices.

Se ha buscado una síntesis espacial, arraigada en la redefinición de los usos. Qué significa para ella el rito de llegar a casa, el evento de cocinar, sentarse, compartir y  trabajar? Qué alturas, qué luces, qué personas y frecuencias, quieren realmente aparejar a dichas actividades. Pretendemos darle a Beatriz lujo. El tipo de lujo que reside en la  sencillez y amplitud de una pertinente arquitectura.

Por un lado,  se consolidó la cocina y el servicio como un nuevo espacio flexible y unificado. Con un volumen macizo y bajo en el centro, arma a su alrededor las  distintas situaciones: el acceso, el  encuentro, el cocinar y el sector íntimo.

Por el otro lado, la segunda herramienta fue la materialidad. Se eligieron tres materiales, por sus propiedad reflectiva  y riqueza superficial. Mármoles, cementos, maderas y lustres. Cada decisión material giró en torno a la amplitud lumínica, la riqueza sensorial y la higiene. Cada superficie aporta distintas texturas, colores y atmosferas.

El Resultado

El resultado para Beatriz es un nuevo espacio que, a cada hora del día, cada día del año, abrirá un nuevo abanico de experiencias.

Redefining the space

Each gesture and each material was chosen based on the personality and wishes of Beatriz. Knowing it was a gradual and gratifying process, which decanted in a simple project, although full of nuances.

We have sought a spatial synthesis, rooted in the redefinition of uses. What does it mean for her to come home, to cook, sit, share and work? What heights, what lights, what people and frequencies, really want to rig to such activities. We intend to give Beatriz luxury. The type of luxury that resides in the simplicity and breadth of a pertinent architecture.

On the one hand, it consolidated the kitchen and the service as a new flexible and unified space. With a tectonic and low volume in the center, that organize the different situations: access, meeting, cooking and the intimate sector.

 On the other hand, the second tool was materiality. Three materials were chosen for their reflective property and surface richness. Marbles, cements, woods and polish. Every material decision revolved around light amplitude, sensory richness and hygiene. Each surface contributes different textures, colours and atmospheres.

The Result

The result for Beatriz is a new space that, every hour of the day, every day of the year, will open a new range of experiences.
